ABOUT ANNA

My path to this work has been anything but linear — but I think that’s what makes it rich.

I started out in law, then international development and human rights. The work was meaningful, but I kept finding that what energised me most was never the policy or the programme — it was the person sitting across from me. I am endlessly fascinated by people. What makes us who we are, what we carry, what we're capable of when someone finally sees us clearly. When we finally see ourselves clearly.

I also came to this work because I needed it. I spent years disconnected from my own body — overriding its signals, prioritising everyone else's needs, pushing through. It's a pattern I've seen in a lot of high-achieving women, and one I know intimately. Yoga was a catalyst for me. What began as a purely physical practice became a way of getting to know myself from the inside out. From there, therapy, then somatics, and eventually this work.

I know what it is to be highly functional and running on empty. To be great at doing and achieving, while your people-pleasing and perfectionist parts quietly run the show. That's why I am so drawn to working with people who are smart, self-aware, and a little tired of their own patterns — people who are ready to come home to themselves.

I believe that understanding why something is happening isn't the same as shifting it. You can trace a pattern all the way back to its roots and still feel it pulling the puppet strings. That's why I work with the body — because some things can't be resolved by the thinking mind. They need to be felt.

I live in Whāingaroa, Raglan, where I'm constantly reminded of the wisdom of moving with rather than against the natural rhythms of life. You'll often find me in the ocean, having coffee with friends, or in pursuit of the tastiest cheese scone.
