Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026
This website is operated by Anna Churton, based in New Zealand, and is therefore subject to the Privacy Act 2020 and the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007 (NZ). This policy explains what personal information I collect, why I collect it, and what I do with it.
What information I collect
I collect personal information in two ways:
Contact form. If you fill in the contact form on this website, I receive whatever details you choose to share. This may include your name, email address, and the content of your message.
Newsletter sign-up. If you subscribe to my newsletter, I collect your name and email address. I will only add you to my mailing list if you have actively opted in.
I do not collect any other personal information. I do not use tracking pixels, retargeting tools, or advertising software.
What Squarespace collects automatically
This website is hosted on Squarespace. Like most website platforms, Squarespace automatically collects some technical data when you visit, including your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time of visit. This is standard website analytics and is handled by Squarespace under their own privacy policy.
Squarespace may also place cookies on your device. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.
You can read Squarespace’s privacy policy at squarespace.com/privacy.
Why I collect your information
I collect your information only for the following purposes:
To respond to your enquiry, if you have contacted me via the contact form.
To send you my newsletter, if you have subscribed. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email, or by contacting me directly. I will honour all unsubscribe requests promptly.
I will not use your information for any other purpose without asking you first.
How I store your information
Your information may be stored in the following places:
My email inbox, where contact form submissions are received.
Google Drive, where I may save contact details for my own records. Google Drive is operated by Google LLC and stores data on servers in the United States and potentially other countries. Google operates under standard contractual clauses that provide comparable privacy safeguards to those required under NZ law.
In all cases, your information is accessible only to me and is not shared with other parties.
How long I keep your information
Contact form enquiries: I keep your details only for as long as needed to respond and for a reasonable period afterward in case of follow-up. I will delete them when they are no longer needed.
Newsletter subscribers: I will keep your contact information for as long as you wish to remain on the mailing list. When you unsubscribe, your details will be removed from the active list promptly.
Your rights under the Privacy Act 2020
Under New Zealand’s Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to:
Ask whether I hold personal information about you
Request access to that information
Ask me to correct any information that is wrong or out of date
Ask me to delete your information (in most cases I will do this)
To exercise any of these rights, contact me at annachurtontherapy@gmail.com. I will respond within 20 working days, as required by law.
